Freelance Project Mar 2022

It was a great honour when I was approached to make an illustration for the March-Apr 2022 (Wildlife) edition of Natgeo Traveller India. 

 

I chose to make the illustration on Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary. During my visit there, I couldn't help but marvel at the fragile ecosystem, with mangroves at its epicentre, that supported many rare elusive species like fishing cats and otters. The place literally came to life at night. But of course, with the jubilation, there is always the accompanying nagging thought that the time for these fascinating species is running out. It is this duality of thoughts and emotions I am trying to depict here.
